Food is delicious and not premade or frozen as many chain or larger restaurants have. Even during times of being short staffed during and after COVID-the servers, hosts bartenders etc. have always been professional and attentive. Cool blues and ambers make for a relaxed setting.

Met some coworkers for Happy Hour here. They have a nice covered patio outdoors, and we sat facing the main rd. The specials included small plates and drinks. I was intrigued by the pb& jelly shot that was made with peanut butter whiskey and Chambord. It was on the happy hour menu, and it was delicious! They also had a dealer choice beer option, and the waitress surprised me with the dogfish head, which I actually enjoyed as well. I thought it was such a fun idea. We tried a few different appetizers, including the perogies and kielbasa, fried brussel sprouts, and dumplings (pictured). All were great! We couldn't leave without trying the desserts either. We had a waffle covered in berries with vanilla ice cream and a fried brownie drizzled with chocolate caramel and topped with walnuts. Wow! So yummy! I had other obligations and had to take off right after, and the waitress was very prompt on getting me my check, and I had such a nice time.

(Last visited 12/22/2021.) On our way to see House of Gucci at the AMC theaters in Plainville and we stopped off at 50 West nearby to have a bite before seeing the show. A friend of ours in the Wingaddicts Facebook group recommended this place to us because of their braised wings, which I had never had before so here's how things went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place delivers an excellent, chic and rustic vibe, but with an upper-scale tavern-like twist. There's a nice outdoor section for the warmer months and the restaurant has plenty of seating split into several different sections. One of my favorite aspects of this place was the high-top bench booths. You could sit higher up off the ground, but let your feet swing at the same time. It's not often that I run across something like that. It was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was quiet around 5:30pm, but I'm sure business picked up later. Service: Our server was actually the bartender and she was awesome. Because it was so slow she was able to run the bar and take care of us. She was sweet, asked us a lot of questions and made it seem like she really wanted to get to know us. We appreciated that. The owner even came out to talk to us when he discovered when I was filming. Regardless, we appreciated the hospitality. Food: We were here during happy hour so we took advantage of it! We started off with their Goat Cheese Balls. They're lightly breaded panko balls served with an orange jalapeno marmalade. They were soft and CRAZILY tender. Like, you didn't even need to chew. They just melted away right in your mouth leaving behind plenty of flavor and some good spice. So the first flavor of wings we had were the Garlic Parmesan. They're a wet sauce and described as "slow-braised". This creates a fall-off-the-bone sensation and it works so well. They were a little on the smaller side and the flavor was light, but they were very good. Next up was Buffalo and they're cooked in the same "slow-braised" manner, all the wings here are cooked like that. The Buffalo was creamy, medium and pretty straightforward. Spicy Thai Jerk was next and it was very intriguing. It tasted exactly how the name describes. It was a great balance of Thai flavors and jerk flavors. Last, but not least was "Spicy House Sauce". There wasn't even a description for this you just have to be adventurous. Lol. There was a bit of spicy Sriracha, red peppers, some sweetness, garlic and black pepper. Very good flavors, likely my favorite of the night. After that we went for the cheese quesadilla with short-rib. Let me tell you somethin'. It was SUPER cheesy, succulent, savory and DELICIOUS. To wash it all down, the owner gifted me a White Chocolate Peppermint Martini. It tasted exactly like a candy cane, but if a brown stripe were added. It was sweet and has that distinct "twang" of peppermint. Delicious. Value: The wings were about $11.00 per order and each came with 7 wings. Like I mentioned, the wings were small, but the quality was there. The goat cheese balls were $5.00 and they came in an order of 3. I could've ordered 26 of these and been in absolute Heaven. They were that good. The short-rib quesadilla was $8.00 and absolutely worth it. Granted, this is my perspective of happy hour so I recommend coming at that time, because you know the real menu prices will naturally be more expensive. In conclusion, I really enjoyed myself here. I'd certainly come back to try out out some real entrees or just hit happy hour hard before going to the movies again!

First time coming to 50 west from word of mouth. For a Friday night it was packed but still got seated right away. Service was slow given the amount of tables to be staffed and tickets all hitting the kitchen at once. Ended up getting our food after an hour but it was delicious. Portions were perfect and prices weren't bad either. Our waitress Jaime was top notch and very friendly. Definitely will be back to try some of the other dishes on a less busy night.
